Zinc metal (Zn) with a specific gravity of 13.7 grams per cubic centimetre,
melting point of 419.5 ° C and the boiling point of 907 ° C, is a bluish-white crystalline metal with a compact hexagonal crystal structure.

Ronak Roy Gostar Industrial and Mining Company, relying on over 20 years of experience and the technical knowledge of Iranian experts and specialists, produces cathode sheets and ingots, using equipment and domestic raw materials which are the prominent features of this industrial unit.

Zinc metal is obtained from enriched ore (concentrate) by two methods: pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy. One of the common methods of metallurgy is Imperial Smelting, Vertical retort and horizontal retort. Hydrometallurgical methods with the slightest differences are essentially the same process depending on the type Concentrate of these changes is applied.

Production of zinc ingots in hydrometallurgical method takes place in six stages: 1) acidic dissolution (leaching) 2) neutral dissolution
3) hot purification 4) cold purification 5) electrolysis 6) casting

Ronak Rooy Gostar Company is producing cathode sheets and zinc ingots from concentrate and ore by the hydrometallurgical method.
In this process, the concentrate used has an approximate grade of 50% and the ore used with a grade of about 30%, which this unit has the ability to use both types of feed.

Zinc is rarely used alone and is mostly used in parent industries such as hot-dip galvanizing (plating), plating, brass alloys, zamak (zinc alloy), bronze, and for electric batteries. Pressurized rollers and alloy sheets are used for sealants, trowels, forming and punching parts.

The Research Department of Ronak Rooy Gostar Mining Industrial Company has started working on the extraction of other metals such as copper, cadmium, cobalt, nickel.
In addition to supplying the domestic market, the company’s ingot is being exported to Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
